Fallout from NL - Expected and Unexpected

Once again the News Leader ran an editorial against anonymous bloggers, this time Brian Lewis. I realize this is more than likely the work of management dictating that Lewis and Messenger need to "strongly oppose" anonymous blogging. I've been in the media business enough to know how this stuff works.
Already the members of the blogaratti are upset.

  • Larry Little of Simple Thoughts of a Complex Mind has this to say.
  • Tech Trends is pretty upset from what I can tell.
  • A blog called Missouri Political News Service dubs Messenger "Baghdad Tony." Messenger admits to being called several names such as Tony No-Facts and Tony No Popsicles. The irony there is the person calling Tony Messenger those names HATES ME because I call him Vincent David John Jacob Jingle Himerschmit Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla (who found a kangaroo) Shimmy Shimmy Ko-ko Bop Ramma Lama Ding Dong Do Wah Diddy Diddy Da Do Ron Ron Ron Da Do Ron Ron Gidyup Ooomp Pompa Oooomp Pompa Mow Mow Hiyo Silver Away Banana Fanna Fo Fanna De Doo Doo Doo De Da Da Da (That's all I want to say to you)Gabba Gabba Hey Gabba Hey (Now you're one of us) two all-beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onion on a sesame seed bun, Itsy Bittsy Tiny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Joiner-Kersee Sammy Davis Junior Jericho.
  • In the unexpected fallout: Busplunge not only gives me a shout out, but offers up a great old photo from the dark days of the Normal Heart controversy of then-SMSU Pres. Marshall "Flash" Gordon and Jean Dixon (cue that Miss Gultch music from the Wizard of Oz). I think I still have a felt heart somewhere at home.
  • And then JackeHammer not only links to my blog, but begs the News Leader to offer me a column of my own. Thanks - I think. Actually, I'd prefer a morning show on a rock station, but it is the thought that counts. To think I was going to banish you to Bois D'Arc.

What a shame, and here I discontinued my campaign just moments ago.

Off to Bois D'Arc, I go.

That's okay. I actually have some friends there, I think. ;)

That is a shock! There are actually people who live at Bois D'Arc.
