THE REASON A NATIONAL ANTI-BULLYING LAW NEEDS REPARATIONS FOR VICTIMS

As you know from reading this blog, I believe we need a national law to deal with the bullying problem. In November, I wrote a post about how I feel that there needs to be a strict federal anti-bullying law. This law should also require the bully and his/her family to pay reparations to the victim.

Some people would say, "Desdinova, why would you believe such a thing is necessary?" My reason has a name: Donny Dickweed (pictured above).

Donny was both a jock and a preppy. His grandfather was the president of the local bank and his family owned a company that made recliners and mattresses. Donny picked on both me and my "good twin brother." As a matter of fact, Donny Dickweed is one of the models for the bad guy, Johnny Waldorf, in my "good twin brother's" novel, Real George.

What is Donny Dickweed doing today? I saw his profile on Facebook and he lives in a large beach house in Florida with a hot wife. He is in real estate and is (of course) a Republican. Meanwhile, I live in a small apartment and make minimum wage, even though I have two college degrees and work in the mass media.

I feel every time somebody buys a recline or mattress, I and my "good twin brother" should get at least 75-percent of the profit to make up for all the "heart-checks," "pink bellies" and "Does-this-hurt?" sessions we were forced to endure from this guy. I also want to note that he didn't just pick on me and my "good twin brother" but other students both male and female. I once saw him choke a female student until she nearly passed out. He also called Eunice Moneymaker "zit face" until she cried.

There were very few teachers and administrators who would stand up to this jerk, because his family were very prominant in the community. His grandfather has a monument to dedicated to him or something like that. Donny was allowed to get away with this sort of behavior because of his family's money and power.

If you are wondering, neither I nor my "good twin brother" are friends with Donny Dickweed on Facebook. Eunice Moneymaker is but, as I have pointed out before, Eunice didn't have good taste in men or she would have went steady with me.

The fact is one never forgets the scars left by a bully, however if the bully and his family had to pony up some dough to the victim (75 percent of every recliner and mattress sold), the pain might hurt less.

ATLANTA RADIO STATION HOST TOWNHALL MEETING TO STOP BULLYING

An Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9 stopped music Monday for a townhall forum on bullying. Usually, I'm against stopping music for election, sports or severe weather coverage. I believe updates and break-ins are more effective and don't upset as many music listeners. However, the bullying crisis in this country needs to be addressed. I've noticed that All Access has reported several CHR and urban stations are having these townhall forums on bullying.

I also notice that the talk radio industry in NOT talking about bullying. The reason is they are PRO-BULLYING. If you knew the truth, most talk radio host were probably bullies when they were in school. I'm sure that Dr. Laura called some girl in her class a "Skanky Lezzy" and no doubt Rush Limbaugh sat on some kid who was smaller than him. As much talk as there has been about anti-bullying laws, I'm sure it is only a matter of time before Mike Savage screams, "I hope all the little whiny bullying victims die of cancer!" and Glenn Beck will say, "I can't prove this but Adolph Hitler was against bullying and enacted an anti-bullying law. Good American children should not be punished for bullying the wimpy socialist classmates." (He'll turn on his fake tears at that point)

A commenter on the story from WGCL-TV about the Hot 107.9 anti-bullying townhall mentioned something that might also explain why the right-wing isn't interested in stopping bullying. The rise in bullying is a result of No Child Left Behind, which was designed to penalize, and ultimately, destroy the public school system. School suspensions rack up negative points on the Annual Yearly Progress Process. Schools sweep problems under the rug to avoid being penalized. Also many teachers complain that problem students, that used to be in special programs designed to deal with them, are merged into the classrooms with good students. These students are a constant problem for teachers that are trying to teach kids.

I know many public school teachers and they all agree that No Child Left Behind is one of the worst things to ever happened to public schools. It needs to be rescinded.

THIS REMINDS ME OF MY SIXTH GRADE TEACHER

This story comes from WLOS ABC 13 - Top Stories in Asheville, North Carolina. A sixth grade girl's teacher has been writing "loser" on her papers. The sad thing is the other student's parents are condoning this.

This story bothers me because my sixth grade teacher treated me the same way. He ridiculed and made fun of me in front of the class. He also refused give me any kind of help with the math assignments (which were out of a HIGH SCHOOL MATH BOOK, not a sixth grade one). If I asked for help, he would reply, "Are you stupid? Maybe you shouldn't be in the sixth grade? Maybe you should be in the special ed class?"

Most teachers are not like this. The problem is there are people who condone this type of behavior from a teacher. Most of these people are over seventy years old. They feel teachers should be hard on kids, because their teachers treated them that way. They also are advocates of corporal punishment. These scumbags think that being mean to a child makes them a better person.

I hope Enka Middle School will terminate this Rex Roland for doing this to this poor little girl. The sad part of this is, he may be so popular in the community that he will get elected to city council and tell the GM of the local radio station to fire a former student that works at the radio station.

I REMEMBER YOU FROM SCHOOL - YOU WERE A PAIN THEN TOO

This is a response to a post on a weenie blog a few weeks ago. It was a slam to people of my political persuasion. This person tried to explain that her political ideology was better than mine. The more I read the more I realized not only why I’m proud to be a liberal, but who most of the conservative people my age are. I have also noticed this by the people who have friended me on Facebook from high school.

Conservatives are those people we didn’t like in junior high and high school. You know the ones I’m talking about. They were not necessarily the popular kids. They were the ones who wanted to be more popular than the popular kids.

Granted, I wanted to be the most popular kid in school but on my own merits such as my hip and cool taste in music, movies, humor and looks (Okay the last one was a stretch). These people were obsessed with grades and achieving notoriety.

There is nothing wrong with excelling, but these people rubbed it in your face that they had better grades than you, that they were the president of a club or on a sports team. However, if someone achieved more than these people, they had their parents go to the teacher, then to principal, then to school board and get some changes made. Usually, a good teacher or coach lost their job, because they did some good like give everyone an “A” or allow a lowly student like myself to be in the spotlight rather than the ‘over-achiever’ or allowed wimpy me play on their team in P.E.

Also these people were the ones who made fun of you to your face. However, if you have a good come back for them, it became “major incident.” Daddy & Mommy would go to the Principal and we would be forced to apologize along with spending time in detention (Speaking of which, if you still can't grasp the kind of people I'm talking about, think of the characters played by Molly Rigwald and Emilio Estivez in The Breakfast Club).

These people usually quit college and said it was because “The professors were liberal.” Actually it was a combination of daddy & mommy weren’t around to fight their battles and partying. See, in junior high/high school these people were always president of S.A.D.D or Teen Action or some other self-righteous, preachy group. They lectured me on how my love of heavy metal, punk and 60s psychedelic music would lead me to drug abuse. Then it turns out these people drank themselves out of SMSU or Mizzou or Drury Or Evangel.

These days those people tell you how much they make, how much their house is worth, how many well-disciplined kids they have and how many vehicles they have. THEY DON’T REALIZE WE STILL DON’T CARE! I have over 3000 CDs and about 200 DVDs. I would like a wife and kids, but the hours I work I wouldn’t have time to spend with her.

I also get paid very little, have lousy health insurance and the industry I work in has been taken over by large money-grubbing corporations that are only interested in making stars out of right-wing scumbags.

Yes, I believe in equality, but you people never did. You are still only interested in one thing...yourself. That is why I never liked you people in school. That is why I was and still am considered the Super Villain of the Ozarks!!! Mwu-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

BTW, if the former governor of Alaska wants to complain about me using her photo in this post on her Facebook page...I’ll sue her butt off!

I STARTED BEING THIS WAY IN KINDERGARTEN

I wanted to mention the passing of a wonderful lady. Her name was Edythe Miller and she was my kindergarten in Lebanon, MO. She made going to school fun and comfortable for children entering the scary world of public education (and Mark Twain Elementary could be very scary at times). Mrs. Miller had a elaborate costume for every holiday or special event. She wore everything from a bunny outfit at Easter to a Betsy Ross outfit for the Bicentennial. At the end of every school day she kissed every child on their way out the door. It didn't matter if they were rich or poor, clean or dirty, sick or healthy, white or black. They got a goodbye kiss.

One of the things you have to learn in kindergarten is left and right. When it came time to be tested, I got the answers wrong and she calmly corrected me. In my typical style I announced to Mrs. Miller, "I have decided that from now on things shall be changed. The right is now the left and the left is right. We will all adhere to the change at once!"

Mrs. Miller handled this gracefully. She didn't smack me around or pummel me into the ground, as the other teachers at Mark Twain Elementary would have done. She just wrote a note to my parents on my report card "You son expresses strong opinions."

And it is those "strong opinions" that make me the Super-Villain of the Ozarks!!! Mwu-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

GOD CALLS ORAL ROBERTS HOME

Pioneering televangelist Oral Roberts (He is the one on the left - for you younger folks. The guy on the right is a fellow name Elvis) died at age 91. CNN has his obituary. The title is a reference to a statement he made in late 80's.

"In 1986, Roberts announced that God would "call him home" unless he raised $8 million to send medical missionaries from the center -- an announcement that was widely publicized."

Oral must have missed a payment. I'm kidding. None of you weenie-bloggers better write a post saying I was celebrating his death, because Oral Roberts was one of the few televangelist of that era that I didn't have a problem with.
While he still preached a "prosperity gospel," Roberts tended to be positive and focus on the power of prayer and faith rather than partisan politics and destroying the entertainment industry.

I remember seeing his TV shows as a child and I liked his introductions which ending with him saying "Today, something good is going to happen to YOU!" Followed by a chorus sing an old hymn, appropriately entitled, "Something Good Is Going To Happen To You."

I also remember as a child traveling to Oklahoma in the early 70's (at the height of his popularity) and seeing a large billboard outside Tulsa that advertised the Oral Roberts University. It featured a giant Oral Roberts waving his arms up and down, welcoming folks to Tulsa.

I read a comment, in one of the articles on his death, from an Alburn University professor of religion that Oral Roberts may have had a more positive impact on Christianinty than Jerry Falwell. I agree that, but of course, opinions like this are why I'm considered the Super Villain of the Ozarks!!! Mwu-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

And remember, SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU!

A QUICK THOUGHT ON THANKSGIVING

On this Thanksgiving Day, I want to get something off my chest. The one thing I never liked about Thanksgiving was the emphasis on the pilgrims. I didn't want to study about the pilgrims, because they were boring and dull. The pilgrims were always presented as so-hollier-than-thou people that we could never measure up to. However, in a college course I had to read pilgrim diaries. These were not only boring, but the pilgrims spent most of their time having sex. The pilgrims have to be the most overrated group in history, next to the dorky founding fathers. Of course, opinions like this are why I'm considered the Super-Villain of the Ozarks!!! Mwu-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I Always Knew Coaches Were Jerks

I never did like P.E. My allergy and asthma doctor demanded that I not take P.E, but for some crazy reason the Lebanon R-3 school system says P.E is mandatory to graduate. English ain't (just a joke).

I always thought some of my P.E teachers/coaches were jerks. Here are examples of two jerks who coach. CNN has the story of a high school coach on trial for the death of a football player.

CBS News has this story of a Christian academy who humiliated a private school for special needs kids in an 100-0 basketball game. The not-so-Christian team had the 100.
